Granode Materials is pleased to announce that we have been awarded a major strategic grant from Vinnova under the call “Scaling up the sustainable battery value chain.”

The funded project, titled “Upscaling Pilot-production of Granode Silicon Specialty Anodes” (Reference No. 2025-03982), marks a significant milestone as we accelerate the industrial scale-up of our silicon specialty anode technology.

This funding underscores Vinnova’s commitment to strengthening Sweden’s and Europe’s battery ecosystem and accelerating the development of sustainable, high-performance battery materials.

Project Overview

Project Title:   Upscaling Pilot-production of Granode Silicon Specialty Anodes

Reference Number: 2025-03982

Coordinator: Granode Materials AB

Funding Awarded: SEK 19,262,000

Project Duration: November 2025 – November 2028

Status: Ongoing

Funding Call: Scaling up the sustainable battery value chain

Advancing Industrial Scale-Up of Silicon Anode Technology

Silicon-based anodes have the potential to deliver significantly higher energy density compared to conventional graphite, making them crucial for next-generation electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and advanced portable electronics.

With this grant, Granode Materials will:
  • Scale up production of proprietary silicon specialty anodes to pilot manufacturing capacity
  • Optimize process parameters for consistency, quality, and cost-efficiency
  • Enhance supply-chain readiness through industrial partnerships
  • Advance sustainability across production through resource-efficient process design

This initiative represents a major step in transitioning our technology from pre-pilot validation to industrial readiness.
